Sacred Corridor

In this small hallway that leads to the kitchen and the bathroom of mirrors there are three pieces of spiritual value. There is a sculpture from the 50’s from the Mantuan artist Lanfranco entitled “The Prophet”, a panorama painting of Jean Baptiste Camille Corot that dates back to 1830 in the Parisian Church of Saint Germain des Pres (as certified by the Italian state) and a portrait of Pope John Paul II by Nani Tedeschi on the occasion of Wojtyla’s visit to Mantova in 1991. The Pontiff, who was shown the work, wanted to autograph the piece “Johannes Paulus II”. Next to the pope’s signature is the signature of the Bishop of Caporello.
