Andreani Staircase

Designed by Aldo Andreani and constructed entirely from wood, the staircase that leads to the upper floors has four flights of stairs with two mezzanines. At the first mezzanine one finds a large oil painting from 1953 by Emilio Vedova that represents a key moment in the career of the Venetian painter as he moved towards complete abstraction. Between the first and second floors, descending from the skylight, which was also conceived by Andreani, is an Art Noveau Murano glass chandelier from the famous Ca’ Rezzonico. The staircase, like the façade of the house on the Rio canal, is under the heritage protection of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
